The Wyoming Civic Center has served the community of Cincinnati since its founding in 1884.  While fire destroyed two previous buildings, the current building was built in 1949, and continues to be the community gathering location for cultural, recreational, and social activities.

In 2018 a first floor renovation was completed, maintaining the original integrity of the mid-century modern architecture, while providing all the amenities a 21st century event center requires.   Improvements include new windows, renovated restrooms, new flooring, lighting, and paint throughout the entire first floor.  In addition to the renovations, the Wyoming Civic Center received its liquor license in 2018, so that it may offer guests competitively priced beverage service packages for events of all sizes.

The Main Hall can accommodate seated events of 200 with a dance floor, or 300 without a dance floor.  A partition allows rental of the front 2/3 for events of 80 people, or smaller events can utilize the back 1/3 only.  A complete catering kitchen adjoins the Main Hall.  The new windows bring the outdoors in, creating an open, bright space very typical of mid-century modern architecture.

The lower level of the Civic Center is home to candlepin bowling—Wyoming’s hidden gem.  This unique form of bowling exists primarily on the Eastern coast of the US, and we are the only candlepin bowling alley located within the Midwest.

There are 6 lanes in the bowling alley.  Pins are long and cylinder in shape, rather than the traditional pin shape of conventional bowling. The balls used in candlepin bowling are much lighter and smaller in size, similar to a softball, and you get three tries to knock down all ten pins.   This may seem like a lot of attempts; however, give it a try and you will understand.  The highest score on record is 170 from 1922.

Candlepin bowling is the perfect activity for birthday celebrations of any age, corporate team-building events, family gatherings, high school graduation parties,  bridal showers and more---guaranteed fun for any event.

In addition, a multi-purpose room is located next to the bowling alley and can be rented for gatherings of up to 60 people.

Wyoming is very fortunate to have the legacy of the Civic Center handed down from past generations.  Available for rent for groups of varying sizes, the Wyoming Civic Center is the perfect venue for any event.
